This is the second Japanese-built ship acquired by ANEK after the F/B “Rethimnon” and “Candia”of 1973. She entered the ANEK fleet in 1978 after a big refit as a night ferry; previously was employed for Hiroshima Green Funnel on OsakaHiroshima traffic for five years and between Volos and Tartous at her arrival in Greece as the “Argo” of Epirus Line. Until 1994 she served the Piraeus - Crete routes (Chania - Heraklion), then was employed for the first time on international routes: from April 1994 to the end of 1995 was on Patras - Igoumenitsa - Bari route. In 1996 was sold to Agapitos Lines and returned on domestic routes to Cyclades (Syros - Paros - Naxos - Ios - Santorini - Anafi) under the name “Super Naias”. Was acquired by Minoan Flying Dolphins in autumn 1999 and renamed “Express Aris”. Initially incorporated in Hellas Ferries’s fleet and Cyclades services, from May 2000 to the end of September was on the new line Brindisi - Corfu - Igoumenitsa, coming back to the Aegean where she served until October 2002, when was laid up in Lavrion due to mechanical problems. Was sold for scrap in India in 2004. Note the similitudes with “Ierapetra L” of LANE, the former “Talos”.
