No many notices of “Mirtidiotissa” when she was in Japanese seas; she came in Greece for “Nomicos Lines”, a company who performed connecttions mainly with North Aegean islands; from what I heard as “Anemos” she was considered a very good ship. She was put on the line Thessaloniki - Heraklion, three times a week, linking also the islands of Skiathos, Skyros, Tinos, Myconos, Syros, Paros, Naxos, Ios and Santorini. From 1996 the line was performed also by the “El Greco” of Minoan Lines and in 1998, after the arrival on the line of “G.A. Ferries” with the new “Dimitroula”, was put on the line Piraeus - Syros - Tinos - Myconos - Ikaria - Fourni - Samos - Patmos - Lipsi. In November 1999 Nomicos Lines came to an end, being acquired from Minoan Flying Dolphins, but the “Anemosmantained her name and was supposed on her route to eastern aegean. But, after been repainted in Hellas Ferries colours she was sold to ANEN, an Anek Lines group company, employed between Piraeus, Peloponnese and western Crete. In early 2002 there were some rumours about a service operated by Mirtidiotissa from Patras to Crete; this was never started, probably also considering the sad results of the previous ships on route (“Festos” of Minoan Lines” and the twins “Blue Galaxy” and “Blue Island” of Strintzis Lines). Still on Western Crete – Peloponnese line, mainly links Kithira, Antikithira and Kasteli with Gythion and Kalamata in Peloponnese, calls rarely in Piraeus, mainly once a week; on Piraeus – Kasteli run nowadays she doesn’t call anymore in Kiparissi, Gerakas, Neapolis and unfortunately also in Monemvasia, omitting the splendid approach in the city of Venetian Castle.
